Patrick Thomas is a Founding Partner at 1790 Analytics LLC. 1790 is a boutique technology consulting firm, with a particular focus on intellectual property analytics. Patrick has worked with many government agencies, large corporations and investment institutions, helping them to identify emerging technological trends, and to locate and capitalize upon technological opportunities. He has published extensively in data analytics and technology evaluation, and is the inventor of a patent describing a method for valuing companies based on the strength of their intellectual property holdings. Before co-founding 1790 Analytics in 2004, Patrick was a Senior Analyst at CHI Research, prior to which he was an Assistant Professor in Quantitative Methods at Southampton Business School (UK). He was educated in the United Kingdom, and received a BS in Management Science from the University of Manchester; an MS in Computer Science from the University of Birmingham; and a PhD in Management Science and Statistics from Nottingham Trent University.
